Yes, simply get on a different train to Wuppertal whenever you arrive in Siegburg/Bonn. No need to worry.
In the train from Mannheim to Siegburg, get the guy checking tickets to give you a certificate that your train was delayed and that you will miss the connection (not your fault). You can then take the next available connection from Siegburg tp your final destination.
Talk to DB staff, either at the station or in the train. DB is required to bring you to your destination.
At 17:55 there is a flixbus to Essen, maybe you can take that, there is a train from Essen to Wuppertal, but you are not home before 1am.
At 18:36 (ICE 514) there is a train von Mannheim to Wuppertal. you shoudl be home by nine.
The other trains are too late anyhow and don’t come to Wupertal before 20:15 anyhow.

Stay in there until Köln HBF. From there, take an IC/ICE to Wuppertal, or RE7 or RB48. RB48 is a local train stopping everywhere, so a little slower, while RE7 is about as fast as an IC/ICE on that track.
If you have a ticket restricting you on certain trains (Zugbindung), ask the staff to write a note on your ticket to release the restriction.
If not, you can take those trains immediately.
