An unacceptable crime and received the correct sentence. I understand the sentiment many are showing in the comments, and I disagree with those labelling them racists. It is a completely understandable sentiment and race should not play a role. The fact someone who is granted protection (refugee status) behaves in such a way is especially abhorrent. These actions are not welcome by anyone, but are especially vile when you come to a country to protect you from the dangers of your home state, the host country not only protects you but also helps you by granting its resources, and you do this, over a passport?
This comment section is such a mess. He is a bad person, yes. But, especially as a German remembering the history of my country, I want that he is treated as a human. Because he is a human. When we start (again) to divide humans in humans that deserve to live and humans that deserve to die, we will have big problems.

In German criminal law, jailed for life (lebenslänglich) does not necessarily mean that the convicted person must spend their entire life in prison. Often parole is granted at a later stage. I would definitely support the capital punishment in rare cases. This one being one of them.

What is a life sentence in Germany? Article said something about early release after 15 years, is this 1/3rd of the sentence?
It completely sounds like a conspiracy theory without any proof, but I really think these kinds of people are part of some kind of extremist group and doing these things to help some type of a cause. Extremist or not, everyone around the world knows what Europeans culture is and they aware if it’s compatible with their culture or not (no one get surprised when they see Europeans eat pork or equality between genders exist), so it looks really weird when I keep seeing people moving all the way to Europe through illegal ways and apply for asylum and then start killing. Maybe I exaggerate their self awareness.
