  1. No surprise the RMT rejects the proposal but to me sounds sensible.

Diminishing numbers of tickets purchased on the day, from experience because it’s cheaper to book in advance. So what are the booking staff doing all day long?

Numbers will diminish further, so why not revolutionise a complex pricing structure that even the staff don’t understand.

  2. a key and overlooked part of choosing a leader, is the choice to not have one.

  3. So customer service just isn’t important anymore then?

  4. How am I going to get my First Class return to *Dottingham* now?

  5. Be real sad if they go. As an autistic person it was always very reassuring to have a point of contact and someone to ask about times and directions.

  6. To those who support this: why? Ticket prices are regulated, and they won’t be going down. If the private companies that run the trains save money by reducing the quality of the service they run, that’s going straight into their pockets. The railway is run to make a profit for its owners, and they know that it’s fine to take a gamble with their investment; if things go wrong the state will bail them out.
