    Anyway, this seems nuts. Granted it’s not just 4 hours but as Ruth Coppinger points out much of his show is just panel chit-chat.

    And I’m sure he has a producer and researchers on the show. Even if he himself was doing 6 hours research in addition to the two live hours that puts him on 2 full 8 hour days a week for €245k. That rate at a 5 day week would be €612.5k

  2. Should be capped at whatever the highest civil/public servant pay is. Want more? head off to England and see if they’ll pay it. I can’t see the BBC/ITV/Sky knocking down the door of this twat, Duffy, Mir-e-yum, Kathryn Thomas & all the other RTE lifers somehow!

I like his show, I think he’s a very good interviewer, but that’s a lot of money for what is basically very little work, ridiculous really when you consider that people go to jail for not paying their tv license, definitely a bit of a gravy train in RTE if you rise to a position of prominence.

    We already know guys like Brendan are on stupid money for fuck all work.

    Issue is RTE purposely used the barter accounts to hide payment and purposely lied about it.

  7. Who was/is Brendan O’Connor related to because (even though I haven’t seen him on tv or radio in years) he always was shite on whatever media it was? Makes me wonder how he got in the industry
