The line in the article about Purra saying that Rydman was chosen based on the same criteria as Junnila is quite something else. I can only assume the criteria are “has done some shady shit and likely still has all sorts of skeletons in his closet.”
As I said in the other thread, no matter what you think of the True Finns and Purra, I don’t really think this is the best the party has to offer. This has to be an intentional choice.
This leads to two conclusions:
1) It is intentional misleading from Purra. She is shielding Rantanen, who as the interior minister, is much more powerful and dangerous proponent of far-right policies. Rydman, being a groomer, is an excellent shield to attract attention away from Rantanen.
2) There really is an internal clique formed of people from Suomen Sisu that runs the show in the True Finns. They seem dedicated to grab all the power for themselves and prevent other True Finns from getting any. That limits their choice of ministers to people with ties to Suomen Sisu, which doesn’t include all True Finns MPs. When the pool is limited, you make do with what you have. Of course, this should rise some serious questions among other True Finns who don’t belong to that far-right block.
For all the talk PS spouted during the previous government’s reign about how they were runing the country, they sure seem very invested in flushing Finland’s international reputation down the toilet.
Well, that should make things better… Oh lord, this is going to be entertaining four years as PS will go thru each of their reps one by one as everyone of them have been vile and nasty for the last decade to appease their voters, or like Rydman who got kicked out from Kokoomus… The reason for their kicking did not go away, it is still there.
They are hilariously incompetent.
I am thinking that PS wants to see this government fail, so they can blame how everything is woke.
Because i am assuming this is not ok to KOK that kicked him out

So, the attitude seems to be for better or for worse. Maybe there exactly isn’t too many great candidates available.
I don’t understand why they don’t start with Sakari Puisto or make him the minister for whole 4 years.
Must be bit awkward for Kokoomus as they kicked him out.
