Does she not think the government also represents the Finnish gay people? Damn. Just for this I will vote even harder for Pekka Haavisto for president, and hope he takes part in every Pride march possible as president. FFS.

Shows backbone to me that she expresses her opinion and not fall onto her knees based on public opinion.

I am so sad about what’s going on over there. As an American, I really see Finland as a beacon of hope for how government can work in the interest of the people. I was foolish to think Finns are immune to the same fears and hatreds that infect people the world over. My hopes are with you Finns who will fight for love and our shared humanity.
With the current parties in the government, the policy should actually be that you can’t march with a Government™ banner unless all government parties agree. Otherwise the Christians will start carrying a government banner in anti-abortion marches and the Perussuomalaiset who knows where…
