Anyone who doesn’t have to show their faces or their real names can spew shit out of their mouths.
You won’t find them in public because they’re a bunch of pussies…
Edit: Ik there have been many instances where the racist assholes have gone off in public. But how do you think those numbers compare when they do it online?
Where is the racism, though? The comments are all along the lines of, “We have enough problems of our own, we don’t need to be paying for other people, too.”
I don’t really see hate and racism. Most people say “why should we donate to someone far away when there are homeless and poor people in our own country?” Which is neither hateful nor racist. A critical opinion of refugees and the government’s aid isn’t racist, it’s a valid opinion people are entitled to.
I’ve seen two or three postings that crossed the line, but even that is utterly normal on youtube, no matter the topic. Is this your first time on the internet?
Just remember the far right has its handbook of how to make a realy small group appear as the majority.
1) you need 100 people
2) each of them has to get 10-20 Accounts (can be created in an instant)
3) prepared and organised comments and texts
4) with that 1 person can dominate a whole comment section on an minor YouTube clip, or Newsforum.
5) with a couple of people you can make it seem everyone is in favor or against a topic so the nutheads fell free to also post their bs.
And yeah, a lot of comments try to walk the line on beeing just “concerned” citizen. But when asked to do something about f.e. the poverty in germany it’s all about: No! We have to cut welfare and social Security to lower the taxes and make them want to work.
its kind of organized few peoples which trying to simulate a majority. Böhmermann once showed up how connected they are with the discord server from Martin Sellner aka the Identitäre Bewegung.
Youtube comments more often than not are an intellectual septic tank. It is disgusting. Not Facebook-Discusting, but that place is where no light shines and racists and assholes come to circle jerk each others.
I think it is a combination of
1. YouTube-Comments are hardly moderated (and hard to moderate)
2. YouTube is one of the most mainstream, centralized platforms of the internet
3. Everybody who has an Android phone can right a comment there without problems
4. It is anonymous.
Therefor, everbody with half a brain cell has fled that platform, and who remains are the assholes and dimwits.

If it is reashuring or heart breaking I don’t know but these comments are – not even the worst that gets written and kept on youtube comment sections.
It is not just by Germans. A lot of people from any ethnicity or nationality are very racist online not just youtube. Name whoever you want. All are racist online
I am curious as to how the video’s comments are racist and hateful? It’s more about the fact that Germany isn’t a charity. And as a foreigner living in Germany, I completely understand where they are coming from.
Did you cry? Some of the nastiest comments on social media I’ve seen are from Turkish & Russian people living here.
Some things are racist, true. But many are simply dissatisfied as how in a country with almost the highest taxes in the world and late retirement, there is not enough pension for an stable living at the end. In addition, many have the feeling that Germany has sent billions abroad (Greece, Italy, Israel, …), refugees and so on. But the own problems stay unsolved; problems like poverty, Old-age poverty, homlessness,… . In addition, asylum abuse and such stuff is often reported, which strengthens mistrust in many.
younger generations are sitting on an huge dept from the last years and many already know, that the pension is likely to not be enough. (everyone is forced to pay taxes for an staaten pension)
Why are you reading YouTube comments in the first place? It’s well known that it’s the cesspool of the internet, and anyone with anything remotely constructive to say doesn’t use them – which leaves the trolls and racists. Just ignore them. Nothing useful has ever come from engaging with or reading YouTube comments.
> I don’t see this in real life!
That’s because YouTube =/= real life
That surprises you? Have you looked at any international Youtube video comment-section?
The Youtube comment-section tends to be super toxic and brain-less(as in people being very stupid and uneducated) in 90% of all cases.
I should note that right-wing and conspiracy nuts tend to rush at videos they don’t like to comment and downvote bomb them. Videos they don’t like get shared in their group and then this happens. It’s often organized.
People say what they truly think about a topic through internet because no one knows who they are. In real life they will shut up because social rules.
Yep, there are many people that are really xenophobic or racist, but they will not say this in public.
Fear.. & Shit-wet-climate = depression = fubar
Do you know what racism means?
For example;
>Why should we help these *n-word*? They don’t belong here anyways.
Would be a racist comment.
>How about we first focus on helping the victims of the flood catastrophe here?
Is not racist, but rather critical.
Sure, some of these may have the intention to not make people donate for refugees, but none of these are openly racist.
OP must be new to the internet. Just go to AJ+, translate the comments from Arabic to English and the amount and savagery of racism you’d publicly see from middle easterners towards Jews, Asians, Americans and europeans make the Germany nazis look like Martin Luther King lol.
In addition to what the others said: Germans generally aren’t that big on social media or putting yourself in public in any way. So the only people who are going to do that are those who feel VERY strongly about what they have to say. Which are those with extreme positions.
Its social media man. The internet never has, and never will reflect the majority of society. Dont let the loud minoirty influence your pov.
Roots.

Never… Read… YouTube.. Comments..
They’re a cesspool.
There are certain topics Germans dislike, but never discuss publicly, such as illegal immigrants.
It has nothing to do with nationality. Maybe you just so happened to feel that there are a lot of German racist comments on youtube because you are on the German side of the internet or watch a significant amount of German-related videos on youtube. There are equally loud racist minorities in every other language/land on social media. For example, there’s a lot of racist comments on the Japanese side of the internet too but you’d never know because you wouldn’t watch any Japanese videos nor understand Japanese.
Dude it’s not just the germans… have you heard of this country that just recently stormed their own political headquarters? they have this shit too
I think racist look for these kind of videos especially so it’s highly concentrated. They are a loud minority and some use the anonymety to show their true colors. It’s sickening and disgusting.
Im internet fürchtet niemand konsequenzen
especially confusing is the comment “before I give my money to those people I’d rather burn it because we have enough people in need in our own country!”
like siriously? If you choose to help some people but not others fine but this is saying that they’d rather burn their money than help people.
You dont see this in real life because youre still in school
Someone already said this is a tiny minority that pulls the string, and i wouldn’t be surprised if Russian troll farms, or let alone Bots or even AI has a role in this. After all the main goal is to create separation, nationalism, because a Weak EU is exactly what russia wants, and only rightwings want this too.
See “Mussolini Moscow Audio tapes”
YouTube comments are 99% cancer. Racists and conspiracy theorists shout the loudest there and make themselves seem more common than they actually are.
I genuinely wonder why people always like to make it exclusively about Germans?
Please check comment sections under American, Russian videos (you can also check Indian videos – YouTube translate will help you)
This happens literally everywhere, but all of sudden Germans are to blame.
P.S. (I’m not German, I’m a foreign student from Central Asia)
really depends on the channel. like everywhere i guess. certain thema’s will always attract certain people
You can also see it in real life. Is happening to others
I find interesting that Germans will tell you, racism is not a thing anymore “here”.. it is coming from “few” people.
My friend from “x” country has never experienced racism here…*is white
Mit Freundlichen Grüßen,
A non-white person living in Berlin
Theres people who are really pissed at this ad and want to voice their discontent and those that don’t really care that much about it.
There’s not a lot of people that feel so strongly positive about it that they would post a positive comment.
No matter if left or right wing political issue, most people have the position “I don’t care, just leave me alone pls”
For the poster, is your reaction because you expected, after the history iof WW2 and huge efforts in re education etcin the country, that the culture in general would be less racist?
I see it everyday in my workplace. I am always discriminated because i am not German
It’s the weirdest thing to me you’d single out Germany when there are literally genocides happening in multiple countries at the same time, both openly classist and racist.
Obviously all of these people suck but I can’t fathom how you’d manage to navigate the internet in a way where the German racists are predominantly the worst you managed to find while avoiding all the others.
That said, I don’t care which country, I hope these fascists all get what they deserve.
Im German and from what I see I think it’s because they rarely see consequences. Having a fake name on Facebook makes a lot of people lose their fear to speak what they think. And from historical site denazification was bullshit. There are still thousands of Nazis in Germany. They just don’t show it to everyone
Sehe da jetzt weniger Rassismus als Ausländerfeindlichkeit. Ist zwar auch nicht gerade toll aber eben eine Meinung, die man halt hat 🤷🏻♂️
So what if they dont want immigrants in their country?!? Why would that be racism?!?
I dont want them in my country either, call me what you want I dont care…
So I have seen this quite a bit in online spaces ..
Once an FB post by SPD simply said Eid Mubarak to our Muslim citizens. Pretty harmless no ? It is a very big thing and an important religious festival globally after all
But the comments omg ! They got triggered massively and spewed sooo much hate I almost felt scared . But then I realised RW troll farms are s thing
I see this in real life too and I live in a small city with 20.000 citizens.
u/helpplease1337 – please define what you mean by racism. I‘ve tried reading as many comments in the video as possible (very hard because of the fast scrolling).
While I disagree with many of the comments and a few, like the final solution one, are downright disgusting, hardly any of them are actually racist. Yes, many are xenophobic, but not racist. And many aren’t even that.
You have to understand that although Germany is on the whole a rich country, not everyone is rich. A lot of lower income people have seen their resources dwindle in the last 20 years. Many are struggling and the state support for them has been reduced as well. Seeing their lives get progressively worse doesn’t really help them to understand why it is important to support those countries a lot worse of than ours. I don’t agree with many of the comments listed, but I can see where they’re coming from.
Germany is a pretty normal country and as such we, too, have our nationalistic, racist, antisemitic, etc swamp. We need to make sure that the swamp doesn’t grow and everybody should actively work against any kind of discrimination. Having lived in several countries and having many friends from many minorities in said countries, I know how awful it is to endure discrimination, sometimes on a daily basis.
But I also get a bit fed up, especially here on Reddit, of Germans so often being called racist or similar by non-Germans. At the same time there being some expectation that we pay to solve the ills of this world.
Look at your own backyards and try to solve the issues there. I could also ask, why are people from that country, of that colour, so racist, antisemitic, homophobic …
But these people are far away from me, I can’t influence them. I need to influence the people around me.
