If I were Ukraine, I wouldn’t attempt to recover Bakhmut. I’d just surround it and pound the troops inside with impunity without wasting a single Ukrainian life.
If the orcs were intelligent, at this junction they’d retreat without fighting (win for Ukraine).
But we know they are stupid. They’d probably send reserves from elsewhere in a desperate attempt to avoid the political downfall. Turning Bakhmut once again into a meat and armour grinder where only their toys and soldiers are ground and thinning the frontline elsewhere (win for Ukraine).
While there are more reports coming in that the AFU liberated Klishchiivka are just short of it i do not think they will directly attack Bakhmut from there. Urban warfare is simply too costly. An encirclement seems way more likely.
