After years struggling with a crappy Wi-Fi and worse repeaters, I finally started to Google alternatives to drill my (rented) walls. One the things I was looking for was powerline adapters.

Powerline adapters are expensive and, from tech articles, seems not as reliable as I need. That’s how I came across MoCA: an adapter that would allow me to use the existing coaxial sockets as a medium to get a wired connection wherever I need.

So to my question: has anyone here tried this? If so, what were your experience? Is there any gotchas I should be aware?

I work in IT and I spend quite some time on conference calls, so wireless is really not an option to me.
