As some one who live in tourist town it is something we all agree with.
“Bikini or going shirtless forbidden” yet the image they chose depicts neither.
It was about time. When you come for vacation somewhere, anywhere it means you paid for your vacation – it doesn’t mean you bought entire country and it’s people.
Split is a beautiful place, was there 2 years ago, glad the locals are standing up to tourists.
Seems to be working. Split is overcrowded with tourists but in my anecdotal evidence, I don’t see much in the way of tourists misbehaving.
Hell, I think their biggest problems is the abuse of private cars. Cars park anywhere there is a spot, pedestrians be damned.
I was in Split last month. more often than not with a beer in hand (after all its my holidays lol) a couple of times I saw the police but they never said anything to me. Also topless but never in the actual city more on the esplanade.
I never saw this sign and I was never like really drunk that I couldnt behave. Also I was with my girlfriend maybe that helped too.
Just wanted to let you know that they wont charge you 300$ if you buy yourself a beer in a supermarket and walk around with it. Just be reasonable and behave yourself.
I fully support these measures, too many tourists are frankly pathetic and unable to handle booze.
These are basic rules who doesn’t follow these? It’s called common sense
