respect has to be mutual, only Christians and secular states are giving respect to the Muslims aka Islam. They have made it clear that they wont make it illegal to burn any religious texts including quran.
What they have been considering is analyzing a change to the law so that the police can take terror or security of citizens etc, into account before approving a permit to hold a public gathering. Which today isnt possible, only if the police expects violence in the vicinity of the public gathering can they deny it today.
Any book should be permissible to burn.
