Hi all, I’m looking for any footage of this one mountain path that runs from Blue Lagoon to the coast on the other side of the peninsula. We went up there today and Im so annoyed that I didn’t take any video, because it was something else (in terms of danger lol)
I have a Google earth image and I traced a line where the path went.
For a description, it was insanely rocky at points, ran directly over some mountains and there were signs plastered everywhere that said “Do not touch any military debris, it may explode and kill you”.
Full disclaimer, please do not put yourself in harm’s way to get footage, this road was absolute hell and I wouldn’t recommend going anywhere near it. I’m just asking if anyone knows the name of the road (it’s unnamed on maps) or has a link to any footage of this road.

I actually took a part of that road in a Nissan X-Trail 2004 once, going from the Smigies picnic site to that road and then towards the Blue Lagoon, stopping short of one of the last steep ascents/descents because beyond that point it was too much for my poor car.
Amazingly, the car survived this experience, or rather it _would_ have survived it if it was fine to begin with, but apparently it wasn’t, it was leaking coolant before that, so it overheated badly which then took 5 months and over 3000 EUR to fix it. It was a miracle we made it to that point and back home safely without even realizing there’s something wrong with the car, except that heating didn’t work on the way back (it was in winter).
We were too busy getting our arses back home to take any footage, though 🙂
