130 electric busses costing €500k sitting idle in bus depots due to lack of charging infrastructure.
Cleaner Air – Well @EamonRyan they certainly are considering the 130 electric buses you oversaw the purchase of at a cost of up to €500,000 each have been sitting idle in bus depots across the country due to lack of charging infrastructure. Sure you couldn't make this up if you… pic.twitter.com/OOPlp5pAxS

So they can’t put electric chargers in bus bus depots because?
This is not the worst part. The worst thing is they bought a load of diesel buses and their sole purpose is to sit in a garage just in case the fleet of electric buses don’t work.
If the electric buses work, these new and unused diesel buses will just be left to rot but don’t worry the electric buses are crap and probably won’t last a full year.
€65 million sitting doing nothing
Government, Council and planners will be blaming eachother again
Dublin bus worker here. Only part of this is true. But the headline is clickbait. They are currently putting in the charging ports in multiple depots for the busses so its not a case of them “just sitting there”. I seen somebody post that they bought a load of diesel busses incase they dont work which is isnt true either. However they did bring back in a load of old ax bus types to get d.o.e’d incase of them failing
