  1. Unfortunately the Ukrainians are going to be de-mining for a long time anyways, so the (valid) concerns about unexplored bomblets becomes a moot point. The overriding concern is kicking Russia out of Ukraine as soon as possible – that will save more lives than anything else.

  2. Cluster munitions risk hurting civilians.

Do you know what else also hurts civilians? Russian occupation.

If cluster munitions shorten the war, the tradeoff is worth making IMO.

  3. Good. I’ll email my representatives telling them thank you.

  4. I want to see tens of thousands of mutilated orcs. Not dead, crippled. Because crippled orcs mean not just one less combatant, but the people caring for them also become non-productive.

  5. The US will provide cluster munition that leaves almost no unexploded devices behind. Exactly what Ukraine needs.

  6. The unfortunate truth is that not supplying these weapons will just increase the death of Ukrainian Civilians and troops. How many where killed just today in their homes for just being Ukrainian. The legacy left by these weapons will haunt Ukraine for years even if its only a 3% failure rate. But those that survive due to the quicker end to this war will have the ability to heal the nation

  7. >Oleksandra Ustinova, a member of Ukraine’s parliament who has been advocating that Washington send more weapons, noted that Ukrainian forces have had to disable mines from much of the territory they are winning back from Russia. As part of that process, Ukrainians will also be able to catch any unexploded ordnance from cluster munitions.

    >“We will have to de-mine anyway, but it’s better to have this capability,” Ustinova said

I think that says it best. I trust Ukraine to be able to take calculated risks to liberate its own territory.

If you already have to demine all Ruz occupied territory, using cluster munitions with a <= 2.35% dud rate maybe isn’t that much additional burden.

  8. Time to cluster fuc those orcs ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|grin)

  9. Frankly, I’ve never understood the UXO argument when it comes to Ukraine. They’re the ones who have to deal with the consequences after the fact. If Ukraine is still asking for them anyway, send them. Its an entirely different situation from when you’re invading another country & leave countless bomblets scattered throughout the countryside.

  10. How far apart do cluster munitions typically land from one another?
