For the younger people, VTM2 started out as Ka2, then Kanaal 2, then KANAALTWEE, then 2BE, then Q2, finally followed by VTM2.

I have no idea what the anime was called, here’s a few things I do remember:

* Old style European army uniforms (think 18th-19th century Prussia)
* Space
* Big robots
* Some plotline where there was a workers insurrection on a mining planet or moon somewhere.

The closest I have been able to find to the above is [Legend of the Galactic Heroes](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legend_of_the_Galactic_Heroes), however I don’t think that has big robots. It’s possible I’m misremembering those, or getting them mixed up with another anime that was also playing on tv.

So my question is, does anyone remember if that anime was ever broadcast on Belgian TV? If it has, then it is probably the one I’m thinking of. If I had to guess, it would have been around 1997 or a bit later.

  1. Shows how long I haven’t watched television, didn’t know the channel changed name again after 2BE.

    And this unlocked some old memories. Gundam is a rabbit hole btw, loads of series and side series, but some real gems in there.

  2. It’s more than likely Gundam Wing (en het ‘vervolg’ Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz). Big robots, space inhabitants rebelling against Earth control, five young people get trained for guerilla warfare and get sent to earth. It follows mostly Heero (what’s in a name) Yui, who crashes down, tries to self-destruct his gundam, fails, gets found on a beach by a long-haired pacifist princess who just wants peace, tries to self-destruct his spacesuit (iirc), fails at that too, and after that finds no better use of his time than going to the rich posh school of the princess girl. Also the bad guy wears a mask (because all bad guys wear masks in Gundam series). And the spacians try to crash a space habitat/asteroid into earth, as they tend to do.
