United Nations data^† shows a net negative flow of foreign direct investment (FDI) in 2021, while 2022 inflows “were less than a fifth of the average in the three years prior to the pandemic.”^1
>Unctad had projected positive investment inflows for 2021 in last year’s World Investment Report. But the agency revised its data downward this year to better reflect modifications to statistical models made by the UK Office for National Statistics.
According to a statement released last week by UK’s Minister of Investment: “Country continues to be levelled-up as foreign investment creates thousands of jobs, including in manufacturing, life sciences and tech.”^2
Economic isolation, stirring up of hatred by politicians, inflation. UK Fascism is really troubling now. I feel more than ever that I am in “first they came for” territory. I live a conventional life but I am bisexual and they would come for me eventually, maybe that’s why I’m afraid? Nothing seems like the real deal, unless they wear nazi uniforms people won’t be worried. They also have ridiculousness on their side, but fascists have always been deliberately absurd and their followers the most pathetic and weak souls. What do we do?
