Stuff like this boils my blood. It’s disgraceful what has happened to this family.
Buying a house in Ireland is already difficult enough without it being made harder by anyone involved in the industry.
Back in 2020 I had a very poor experience with an estate agent who didn’t pass our bid on to the seller as we were the only interested party at the time. The only way we found out he never passed our bid on was because he said if I bid 40k more (advertised asking price was what we bid) that he would go sale agreed straight away as he said it was a BOI reposession sale and he knew what they wanted. I contacted someone I knew that worked for BOI and he checked with someone in the know on these sales and he said they were never advised of any offers on the property. As a result I complained to the PRSA and absolutely nothing came of it.
So I wonder if EA’s can just continue to get away with stuff like this without any consequences, even when it’s costing people time and money!

Should be jailed for theft
I’d like to hear about their solicitor and the advice he gave them.
Either the solicitor was rubbish or they ignored advice.
If that’s true, I’d be telling that story to the Gardai or the press.
I mean thats a lump of text by an anonymous instagram account.
If it actually happened at all, it’s hard to know what went wrong where without any details which this doesn’t supply at all.
why are they not calling the fraud squad
We have a bunch of estate agents in Cork that have done this sort of thing, have lost in court but are still practicing away. Total disgrace.
They’re lying bastards in my experience
