Remaining in Russia means paying taxes in Russia, adding to the money Russia can use to fund their war against Ukraine. So this week, Ukraine officially named Unilever the parent company of brands like Dove, Ben & Jerry’s, Domestos and others an International Sponsor of War.

I guess I have to give up Cornetto over the summer…. it’ll be painful, but worthwhile. Read the room Unilever!
Not that he has any real involvement anymore with the brand that he co-founded and still bears his name, but Ben Cohen also came out against supporting Ukraine, using typical tankie logic.
The more these companies get this kind of “airtime”, the better.
Didn’t pay enough attention to Unilever brands. Full on personal boycott here. No more domestos cleaning my toilet.
Can we boycott pepsi now?
Thanks for this handy “no buy” list!
No more Hellman’s for me.
The other day I was writing a mail to Unilever that I would avoid buying their products (although I’m not buying any of their stuff) and to tell all of my friends and relatives to do so too because of them being a “state sponsor of terrorism”.
So this was their reply:
“*Dear Mr. …,Thank you for your message. We remain focused on ensuring the well-being of our Ukrainian employees and their families. Unilever has donated more than EUR 15 million in support and key Unilever products to humanitarian relief efforts since the outbreak of the war.*
*Since March 2022, we have stopped all imports and exports of our products to and from Russia, as well as all media and advertising spending. We have also stopped all capital flows into and out of Russia. We continue to supply our Russian-made food and hygiene products for daily use to the people in the country.I hope we have been able to help you with this information and look forward to you continuing to place your trust in our products.I am pleased if you take the time to evaluate my work. You will have the opportunity to do so shortly. In addition to rating my service and our products in the form of a scale, you can also influence the future quality for you. Use the text field for praise, thanks, suggestions or constructive criticism – so that these also reach me and my colleagues quickly for evaluation.Kind regardsUnilever Consumer Service*

I think companies should leave Russia, but generally it probably won’t help the war effort. Russians will just buy other -Russian made- stuff instead and pay the taxes on that. On top of that the profits will stay in Russia so you could argue that it’s better for foreign companies to take all their profits out of Russia.
I knew there would be bad actors that would still sell in Russia, I wasn’t expecting it to be a soap company though.
Orcs bathe?
Can someone please post who the 27 multinational companies are that are still doing business with and in Russia?
Damnit, I use dove everything. Going to have to switch.
Should check out InBev and all the products they make and don’t forget to not buy anything from these companies
