Which is why we need strong European army in place of national armies. To pool the resources and utilise them more efficiently.
Is there a non paywall version?
the EU is losing rapidly and the next few years will probably be bad too seeing as Germany is already in recession. We are risking becoming an american vassal state, even more so than we already are.
they openly attacked our economy by drawing away our industry and we cant do shit about it. Thats the state we are in
We will never breach the bread gap.
I’ve talked about this in a similar thread before. Without a unified foreign policy, there can be no unified European army.
No European country is willing to transfer that power from the nation state level to the supranational level. And then there are several other obstacles to overcome as well: language, materials, spending, R&D, etc.
The first thing we need in the European Union is a change of conception, to accept that the USA is just a partner with some common objectives and shake off this idea that they are an ally, they have been “playing” in the Middle East for decades and they have not given a shit the migratory crises that this launched over Europe.Second, a common fiscal policy that provides reliable data from each region to avoid subterfuge and bad practices.
Given these steps, any European institution can be put on the table in a serious way and be studied, meanwhile they are siren songs.
The power of the US is meaningless without
a) facilities in Europe to project and coordinate it from and
b) competent use.
In the past few decades, the use of US power was pretty much diametrically opposed to European security and, in fact, triggered a course of events that reduced stability in Europe considerably.
Europe needs to rely on itself, its fucking insane that the moment the war in Ukraine started. EU started buying shit FROM THE US. Like guys, just fucking work something out, so many weapon manufacturers in EU. Work something out for fucks sake.
The EU nations taht are sending weapons to Ukraine are basically the only ones at a loss..
EU nations send weapons and buy US made.
Since when was the EU as an organisation one of two pillars of NATO? The EU wasn’t founded for another some 50 years after NATO.
The EU isn’t even a NATO member.
The EU is not a pillar of NATO, lol.

“Europe” isn’t a unified country, and neither is the EU. When you have EU countries on opposite side of economic tensions (Germany vs. Greece), foreign policy tensions (Estonia vs. Hungary), energy tensions (Nord Stream Germany vs. anti-Russia Baltics and nuclear France), etc…, there is no chance there will be a unified EU military. Europe is all too happy to let the US fund defence, but that also means letting the US set defence policy.
