Does he have a specific accent? How strong is his accent? My German is not good enough to notice his accent. I noticed he used the word “blieben” instead of “bleiben”which might potentially be a mistake, but I might be wrong as well! Thank you.
PS. I posted this question in German first and my post was removed. Ironically, you are not allowed to speak German in r/Germany 😀

I only watched a very short part of the video but he speaks really good German. He does have an accent but it‘s not a lot of accent. Great vocabulary as well. Really impressive.
„Blieben“ might be right, depending on the context it is used in and I didn‘t watch a 13 minutes video to figure this out. It‘s basically a past tense of „bleiben“.
Edit: German is not allowed in this sub as it is a specifically english speaking sub for Germany.
I didn’t know who this guy was, but I googled him and it turns out he has a degree in Germanic Studies / Germanistik. He’s also done a lot of work in the German speaking world. His German is (unsurprisingly) very, very good, but you can hear that he’s not a native speaker.
Very good, academic German with a very slight accent.
