  1. What are France doing to stop this and why are they so ineffective? If this was the other way round France would be fuming at the UK.

  2. We really need to stop paying for them.

If we pay for them to come – they will come.

This is the largest number of immigrants that the UK has EVER seen.

  3. Genuine question, is there a way this can be properly dealt with?

Whichever side of the fence you’re on, over 45,000 people entering the UK last year alone via illegally crossing the channel is not sustainable and isn’t good for the UK. The risk and conditions for the people attempting to cross is also horrendous.

The entire situation is an absolute mess

  4. I’m not suggesting that mines are right solution but….

  5. Has anyone seen any info on how often the smugglers themselves are caught or what happens to the boats or where the boats come from?

The smugglers must at the very least be on shore when the boat leaves France. Why aren’t they arrested at that point?

The whole situation is strange because even if we are talking about 20 people boats, we are talking about something in the region of 2000 boats last year, that’s a whole industry.

Is there a boat shop in France making a complete killing?

I think we should all be able to agree that the smugglers are bad people, should be arrested and it’s odd that they haven’t been arrested / are carrying on.

  6. Just start sinking the boats the crossings will stop
