Hi! I visited Austria in 2017, beautiful nation it’s one of my favorite! I collect currency & wanted to know if anyone old enough to remember were the notes below used or were the newer version 500 & 1000 used at the time of the Euro/turn of the century? Thank you in advance for any insight!

The bills in your picture were in use from the early 80s. But there was indeed a newer version of both in use only for a couple of years before the transition to the Euro.
First thing I thought after seeing this picture was: “That’s a lot of money”.
After converting it realizing that’s only about €110 (or a little under €200 calculating it with inflation)
thats nearly 100 euro now in Austria.
