2. I cried when I first heard of the bold defiance in the face of certain death on Snake Island. I was sad, but also proud for the people of a country I honestly had never really heard that much about. It was also then that I realized the Ukrainians would never give up, and fight to their last breath for their freedom. I thought maybe, just maybe, that Russia had finally poked the bear one too many times. That Ukraine was somehow the David to Russia’s Goliath. Like most, I was told that Zelensky would run or maybe be killed. That this would be over in a week or two and that Russia would continue to harass, bully and strongarm Eastern Europe in it’s quest to return to it’s soviet glory. And yet here we are. It’s 500 days later. Ukraine is on the offensive. Ukraine has gained back ground. There is instability and unrest in Moscow. Putin looks as weak as he ever has in 30 years. The world is rallying behind Ukraine and the word defeat is now only mentioned in reference to Russia. Slava Ukraini
