I moved to Saarbrücken about a month ago because I landed a 100% TVL E-13 (Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter) position, and the way to get an appointment for a residence permit is to send an email to their ausländerbehörde (ABH) here.

When I wrote the email for the appointment, I mentioned a blue card because I qualified for it.

The reply that I got was that I don’t qualify for the blue card, because my salary is less than 58.400.

To which I replied, that I qualify for a Blue Card under a special occupation, which requires to have salary of 45.552 \[[source](https://www.bamf.de/EN/Themen/MigrationAufenthalt/ZuwandererDrittstaaten/Migrathek/BlaueKarteEU/blauekarteeu-node.html)\].

I know this because I was employed under very similar circumstances, 100% TVL E-13, with even same titles for the lab, under Blue Card.

So I told them the details of how I qualify for it, and how my previous ABH issued me one for the same circumstances.

But then I didn’t get any answer, it has been 2 weeks now, and my residence permit expires this month, and I don’t have an appointment.

I feel like my conversation rubbed off on the agent the wrong way, what should I do in this case?

  1. Email again or fax.
They told me I didn’t qualify for a permit and after a few emails asking them for the exact reasons they did a complete 180 and gave me a permit 🤷‍♂️

  2. Posting your ID card publicly on reddit I don’t think is very smart.
