‘It’s simple and cheap’: the volunteers making Ukraine’s Trembita bomb.Known as the ‘people’s missile’, the bomb costs about £2,300 to build and can be transported in a car boot. The prototype is Ukraine’s 21st-century answer to the V-1 flying bomb, or doodlebug,it has a range of 140km (87 miles)

Is napalm better option for warhead?
I was wondering when they would start building pulse jet bombs.
This is why Ukraine will win this war. Everyday people being creative without the heavy handed top down leadership like Russia. Ukraine needs a wide to build their own military industrial base as well.
There are a lot of very interesting projects started by Ukrainian volunteers but unfortunately, it seems the state ignores most such projects. Volunteers can start mass-producing things like fpv kamikaze drones but for more complex weapons it’s hard to go beyond prototypes without funding. They are not directing enough funding to simple, innovative and cost-effective weapons. And it’s not just me being critical, the chief of Ukroboronprom was recently [replaced](https://www.kyivpost.com/post/18781) because the results were definitely underwhelming. Though I’m not sure if he can improve the situation or if the problem lies higher up.
>An even worse problem for the UOP during Gusev’s time concerned the missile program. Last year, very ambitious updated goals were approved, although for security reasons the details of the plan were not made public. President Zelensky was promised that by May 2023, there would be sufficient stocks of the Ukrainian tactical missile system “Sapsan” (export name “Grim-2”) to mount a massive campaign to destroy Russian military infrastructure deep inside the Russian Federation.
Maybe the problem was unrealistic goals. Instead of pouring billions into these mega-projects, maybe more focus should be on more cost-effective weapons. Producing ballistic missiles is not much easier now than it was in the 70s. But producing low-cost drones or shells with smart guidance has become cheaper by several magnitudes. Ukraine has to out-innovate Russia.
For example, the fact that Ukraine does not produce Lancet-like drones in meaningful quantities is inexcusable. Ukraine has a fuckton of skilled engineers, the military industry should be much more productive if managed correctly.
Need a good link to fund.
Can someone define “car boot” for me please?
As long as I’ve been working with cars I’ve only ever heard one thing referred to a “car boot” and it’s certainly not something you could put anything into; especially not a missile lol
Can’t wait for the testing to be done!
