Where populist proposals and elitism got the Greek

  1. At this point I’m old enough to know how the cycle works.

    * Malta gets in a sustainable position, the PL gets elected and it’s a free for all. Everyone gets something. Those who know how to milk the situation for all its worth get more than others.
    * Malta’s situation gets unsustainable, the PN gets elected and has to clean up the mess. Everyone has to pull their weight. Those with more ability and resources end up pulling more weight than others.
    * As the situation gets better discontent ironically piles up as everyone is tired of pulling their weight and now they want a share of the spoils. The cycle repeats.

  2. Do people think low income earners are better off today compared to when PN were in? Seems to me everything has skyrocketed in price (expecially rent) while wages for unskilled workers are pretty much the same. The divide between the haves and the have nots is getting bigger as far as I can see.
