I imagine the truth would lie inbetween. I do feel some of the Nato estinates may be overly reserved based on visual evidence of casualties I have seen. But Ukraine has much reason to promote overly optimistic estimates.
In addition I am not sure this 400 a day takes into account the disease outbreaks currently afflicting sections of the Russian forces. I also question if it includes the paramilitary forces working for Russia, I imagine not since the infornation recorded by Russia suggests that these paramilitary groups don’t get much medical aid, so has no real bearing on this topic. Paramilitary groups have also been discounted from other NATO estimates. We know Wagner and DPR casualties have been immense with human wave tactics and poor sanitation.
So… looking at more hard evidence figures that came out around various battles and combat zones, as well as ORYX documented vehicle losses… the real number of Russian casualties… I imagine lies around 300k-500k, with around 100k-200k dead due to lack of proper medical care.
Though all of this is very arm chair back of napkin estimates, based on limited public infornation… that is often contridictory.
Meanwhile, in Turkiye there are dozens of Russian speaking foreign doctors opening up offices to take care of the russian tourists..
So basically uk intelligence seems to suggest that Ukraine estimated losses are acute from my understanding I happen if Im wrong though
