It’s a messed up industry, and those making it worse need to be banned from handling animals if they can’t show a minimum level of compassion.
Rinse and repeat, we see these docs every few years. No matter what this doc shows or what measures are put in place it’ll never not be a thing that the “_few bad apples_” that breed livestock for slaughter aren’t treating their product with respect.
Remember this the next time you’re picking up your meat in the supermarket and there’s a cartoon image of a happy cow in a field.
Par for the course here. Farmers rape the land in Ireland. The land is fucked now.
This info about marts is only the tip of the iceberg. There’s horrendous conditions and treatment for a lot of animals in this world. It’s difficult to change the actions of some thick feckers and to monitor it is even harder. At the end of the day, we do kill them, grind them up and make shit burgers from them so……
Glad I no longer eat meat!
Is this better or worse than ‘sulky culture’ and does it attract a (not very) sly racist rant in every comment?
Growing up I remember visiting one of my neighbours who had sheep. I vividly remember him showing his sons (and me) that when a sheep gets its head stuck in the fence, you give it a few kicks so it knows not to do it again.
I’m not at all shocked by any revelations. I’m shocked that others are shocked.
