Reminds me of the time I went on a walk around East London to discover more about mercantile history.
At one point the braying mob I was with, who clearly didn’t care about academic history, forced the kindly guide to don (of all things) a deerstalker hat and puff on a pipe, acting out a hackneyed Sherlock Holmes ‘bit’ about Jack the Ripper.
It got even more off when his friend turned up and said something about having a wanking addiction.
A strange day that was.
What’s the controversey?
Is it really any different from the London Dungeon having Jack the Ripper stuff in it? It looks like even the London Dungeon has a Ripper style pub now as well.
Sounds like it was a slow day at the office, people are really stretching at what they want to find problematic.
Why would you open a Jack the Ripper themed bar in Southsea?
He was terrorising the east end of London. Not fucking Hampshire.
I really wonder about the people who express legitimate concern over things like this.
Here in Watford, we’ve a removal company called Stand and Deliver, who use a masked highwayman as their logo. Has had little to no controversy, although have certainly got their money’s worth out of that Adam and the Ants song.
okay yes this is very odd but who is outraged by this just move on with your lives
