  1. Reminds me of when some farmers “recovered” an abandoned Orc transport.

    “It doesn’t even have a cassette player”, was one comment.

  2. The crews are more valuable b/c the US can always give more Bradleys to Ukraine, which they are doing. The beginning of the counter-offensive is a good example where over a dozen Bradleys were lost, but the crews made it out alive to fight another day.

  3. Western armor doctrine prizes crew survivability.

    Soviet amor doctrine prizes sheer numbers.

    Replacing & repairing a vehicle can take a few weeks, replacing its crew can take years.

  4. The doors to get into the BTR or any of the APCs the Soviets have look cramped as hell. I don’t know how you’re meant to board one if you have a full kit on.
