  1. Dictatorships are not so effective when people can just fucking leave, huh?

  2. Great for Hungarians. We can’t have these growth-crazed neoliberal politicians import thirdworlders by the boatload and pump up our CO2 emissions through the roof.

We only have one planet after all and Hungarians only have one Hungary. Good news all around.

  3. Hungarian population decline is actually finally starting to turn around a bit.

If there is decline in the next 30 years, it won’t be drastically different from other European countries. Plus, although dropping to 7 million would be a destructively drastic decline, a little bit of tapering off isn’t necessarily a bad thing.

  4. Well boo fuckin’ hoo. I get taxed who knows how many times, politicians and their oligarchs steal almost all of it. When we get an incredible chance to develop the country with funds sent by other EU members, politicians and their oligarchs steal most of that too. Said politicians and their oligarchs monopolize entire industry sectors, kill off any competition, so that they can charge as much as they want for subpar services. They monopolize media so that they can push their propaganda bullshit.

I don’t care about this country anymore, there’s no point to it.

  5. I still don’t understand why shrinking population is a bad thing and at the same time we worry about world overpopulation.

Only argument is the pension system. If the pension system does not work without constant population grow, the system is flawed and needs to be reworked.

    Just my two cents.
