Above, I’ve included information from an [article](https://wise.com/us/blog/how-to-get-citizenship-in-switzerland) I’ve seen which basically states that both Americans and Canadians have an easier time receiving Swiss citizenship in comparison to other nationalities. Why is this? Are there any specific treaties, pacts, or documents which have made this possible? Any information on this is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Die ordentliche Einbürgerung steht ausländischen Staatsbürgern offen, die mindestens 10 Jahre in der Schweiz gelebt haben, davon drei in den letzten fünf Jahren vor Einreichung des Gesuchs, und eine Niederlassungsbewilligung (Ausweis C) besitzen;
