  1. Austrians and Bavarians call it *Striezel*, rest of the Germans call it Hefezopf. It’s a sweet bread in the shape of a braid. It’s traditionally given to kids but my family gets together to have a Striezel-dessert in the afternoon with homemade jam. The jam flavors we had were apricot, strawberry, blackberry, ribes, red grapes, white grapes, figs, apple, and more.
