  1. I wonder how much of that was down to the reduced economic viability of cars.

Either way, I’d love to see more cycle-centric infrastructure.

  2. Not really surprising. Don’t need tax, don’t have to be insured, good public transport.

Car is not really needed for most people.

  3. I just wish the small number of cars left on the road would drive on the pavement and get out of the way, leave the roads for it’s main user!

  4. As it should be in a large city. Now create more parks and plant trees to curb pollution and provide shade, that the building absorb during heatwaves.

  5. While from an environmental point of view I celebrate this, as a pedestrian it feels a bit “careful what you wish for” as the bikes seem to come out of nowhere and really, really hate losing momentum even when they’re legally obliged to do so.

A nice stroll along the canal now feels edgy, exciting and like it might turn into an accidental game of total wipeout any second.

All this is to say, we could still stand to improve cycling infrastructure a bit.

  6. That’s great, if we can now get the 40% that seem to think red lights don’t exist to pay attention that’d be great
