Of course the government couldn’t possibly do anything about people turning down multiple housing offers.
If only this guy was in power and could do something about the housing crisis that is everyone else’s fault. . .
I saw that interview earlier.
I think he also said that over 40% of emergency housing was currently occupied by non-citizens who didn’t qualify for supports.
That’s a very serious statistic if it’s true.
Oh yeah its the peoples fault.. well played Leo
He is insufferable
Right, because when someone turns down a house it’s immediately demolished and nobody else can live there ever
Remember to vote in next elections.
It’s the people’s fault, you see. Not the Government.
The desperation 😅

no it isn’t. when someone refuses a housing offer it moves onto the next person on the registry. it’s not like entire registries of people are refusing them outright. this is a nonsense talking point as usual.
I was roofing apartments in Galway City and the Simon Community came over with a van full of belongings to help a lad move into a brand new apartment on the corner. He got out of the van had a look around. The service road with communal bins for the block was around the corner.
“I’m not moving there. There’ll be noise in the mornings when they collect the bins”
Every day that shite is going on. If you refuse a housing offer you should go straight to bottom of the list.
The amount of hardworking people that would do anything for their own place and you have wasters turning offers down.
Jaysus why does he keep opening his gobshite mouth? Just roll on the next election and never let him hold a public office again
Nothing to do with planning being granted to convert housing into short term let’s.
What an utter unbufferable cunt with no grasp on reality
Well am going to tell you something, the three times I’ve been homeless, I took the first one bedroom private let offered to me, to rent, now I stay above a mentally unstable alcoholic that likes to shout racist slurs, while she also describes sexual acts in detail, which is now causing issue for access to my son, pray tell me where these refused houses are so that I might find a stable one ?
Fuck off.

You turn down one you go to the bottom of the list. Easy.
HA! I recently had to move and got VERY lucky to find my current rental place. I had 2 months to find a new place in Dublin. Barely enough time. But the “offers” I got were higher then what was advertised, or paying insane amounts to share a room with strangers.
Even now i am paying half my monthly wage on rent but that was the cheapest I could find that actually got back to me. Most i never heard back from. I was so lucky to find what I did but I was genuinely worried about being homeless. I was making plans to stay on friends couches.
Leo is such a cunt.
