I don’t believe that at all.
Roads are for driving on. I have literally no idea what the argument is here? We used to play on the roads as kids and there were cars there then. You got on the pavement when you could hear one and still very occasionally accidents happened unfortunately.

Air pollution is having a massive effect on asthma levels and could be linked to an increase in allergies and hayfever. Safety is one factor but cars are making it so that every breath kids in urban areas take is actively harming them, even when they go to parks to get ‘fresh’ air.
