It’s difficult to decide if the relatively low population to other EU countries is a blessing or a curse. When I look out at the countryside it’s hard to imagine twice as many homes as are there now. Perhaps we would have grown into our situation as other countries have, but I consider or low population as room for growth.
Obviously the famine was a horror, but given that, Ireland is well positioned for growth in the future.
With population much lower everywhere except Dublin and Belfast, why are today’s housing prices so insanely high?
The west had the worst land and weather but was where most of population lived in 1841.
Mayo could def win Sam with a couple extra hundred thousand beefcakes roaming around
