(TLDR: UBP malding that the people hate them, trying to spin the horrendous voter turnout as somehow meaning ‘*the people are happy & so didn’t vote because they don’t want change :D*’ & not ‘*we don’t trust your “democracy” anymore*’)
—
Secretary General of the UBP, Oğuzhan Hasipoğlu, emphasized that ‘*Turkey’s work to create a TRNC that can stand on its own two feet*’ is an important message to the world. Also on his evaluations of the parliamentary elections, he said what the people want is uninterrupted governance (*by the UBP*) until 2027, and not early elections.

As the Secretary General of the UBP, he appeared in the ‘*This One’s Important*’ programme aired by the BRT & gave his evaluations on current matters.
Speaking on the June 25 parliamentary elections, he said “*The people have given important messages to politics, and we have received our part of the message.*”
Emphasizing the importance of fulfilling the necessities of rule of law & participatory democracy, he noted that the low turnout & its implications should be looked in a positive light as well. Hasipoğlu stated, “*With a turnout of 29%, it is senseless to talk about early elections or any change (in power). The people clearly want uninterrupted governance (by the UBP) until 2027, and not early elections.*”

Hasipoğlu, emphasizing the support of Turkey in the improvement & the economic development of the TRNC, said that the TRNC will be strengthened further with new hospitals in Nicosia, Kyrenia & Güzelyurt, Social Housing projects, infrastructure investments, and the opening of the new airport in Ercan.
He stated “*It is an important message to the world that Turkey keeps on supporting us & works for a country that in this new century can stand on its own two feet.*”
