They put up signs on a road announcing they will organize a “speelstraat” for 2 weeks.
The things, this is a pretty busy road, with bus stops and tons of businesses in the streets.
According to https://www.vlaanderen.be/een-speelstraat-organiseren if public transport uses that road then you can’t organize a “speelstraat” there.
Does anyone have any experience with this?
It’s not that I mind that much (though it does mean a 5+ min detour for me), but it seems fairly unsafe given the level of traffic that normally goes through this street.

to organize it legally, most people in that street have to accept, and it has to be officially asked for.
So yeah, if there are busses and public transport, they might be in for a fun surprise
You should be able to find all the approved ‘speelstraten’ on the website of your city or local police. It most likely won’t be in there because of the requirements. I doubt it’ll last long if public transport goes through there.
