Hello. I’m from Romania and I’m soon to be an electrician. My plan has always been to get a bit of experience here in my home country, learn German and move to Germany but lately I’ve been having second thoughts about this.
I searched on [monster.de](https://monster.de) and [indeed.de](https://indeed.de) for “Installateur”, “Elektroinstallateur” and “Elektriker” and to my surprise salaries seem quite low. Most jobs that publish their pay range are offering between €15 – €20 brut, which roughly translates to €1600 – €2100 net for single persons. And mind you, most of these jobs require experience and good knowledge of German (B1+). The only jobs I see paying more than this are in Munich and Berlin but a few extra hundreds euros don’t really cover the increased costs of living in these cities.
So do jobs in the trades really pay that low or am I not looking where I should? Do construction companies use other recruiting sites? Do they give bonuses that boost your salary but they’re not listing these bonuses in the job postings?

Yes.
There’s a reason there’s a trade shortage.
Hmm, maybe Checkout a more non metropol region in between like Bamberg eg, and concentrate your search there:

Thrn check your list via websites and go for family businesses and give them a call.
