  1. When the hotels come crying for support and talking of the ammount of jobs that will be lost if the govt doesn’t do X or Y to help them, remember the jump in prices the second a rugby match is announced in Dublin or all the Taylor Swift cancellations and gouging.

Hotels chose to repeatedly rip off people. They can’t be bailed out when the consumer starts to reject them. Live by the market, die by the market.

  2. Not surprising when you’re seeing quotes of half a grand for two nights in Ballinasloe

  3. Because a huge number are booked out for emergency accommodation

  4. Oh, if it isn’t the consequences of one’s own actions.

  5. In Dublin at least, it’s cheaper to book an escort for an overnight session and just sleep at their place.

    So I heard.

  6. Cunts wanted us to support them during that “staycation” bollocks and now return the favour by absolutely fleecing everyone. Far cheaper to holiday abroad than holiday here.

  7. Gee, it’s almost like we’re not bothering after they decided to price gouge us, eh?

  8. Ireland needs more motels, not everything needs to be a bnb with an “authentic Irish” whatever. So many tourists and locals drive but are stuck with the Grand Country or City experience, it’s silly.

  9. Sounds like supply is too high or demand too low and they need to reduce prices to find the new equilibrium point.
