A Scottish study of 22k people says Omi is two thirds less bad than Delta for hospitalisation.
You would expect 47, we have 15.
Even better for S Africa.80 per cent less bad.

Urgh, all this “maybe” “looks like” “could be” nonsense
I don’t care what the current guidance is, nothing is stopping me from my annual tradition of having a drink, sending a new year message to the group WhatsApp and then going straight to bed
Party is booked for the same place as we’ve had it for about the last decade. It will go ahead.
Just make parties! If police wants to object say it was a working party! If they fine you… ask them to fine bojo first. The law applies ro all!
My plans will be going ahead, regardless of a pointless lockdown or not.
The population is almost fully vaccinated and omicron seems lot less severe than delta from the data that arrived recently. I definitely feel more optimistic than few weeks ago, perhaps some measures to flatten the curve would make sense once things get bad, but lockdown feels like overreacting rn.
I don’t see another full lockdown a la March 2020 or January of this year.
But I see a de facto lockdown in so much as social contact is restricted and some stuff is closed.
