Seeing some ridiculous electricity bills being posted on line from home. I’m paying on average 50chf a month.
>Ms Farrell asked Taoiseach Leo Vardakar what was she to tell Michael and what was he supposed to do in relation to the bill.
Uh…. shure pay it, I suppose….. /s
(Or “Tell him to feck off!” as Fr Damo might say).
What kind of story is this? The claim is the man received a large bill…. Doesn’t say over what period. Was it 2 months? Was it a year? When did he last pay a bill?
The vital information needed in order to figure out if Michael is getting shafted with an exorbitant bill or a reasonable bill (under the current circumstances) is intentionally omitted.
>Michael lives alone in a one-bedroom flat and is absolutely terrified to put on the heat or put on the electricity
Well what is going on in that flat that he managed to rack up that bill? Could it be years of under-estimates? Did someone surreptitiously set up a bitcoin mining operation in his jacks? Is the neighbour plugging in his new Tesla electric car to charge while Michael is asleep?
Either he used about 6 months worth of an average families electricity in 2 months, or else he was getting estimated bills for a while. Unfortunate for him. I don’t see the point of these stories in the Dail though apart from getting a soundbite for sharing on social media.
A days pay for Tubridy to sit on his arse. Puts it in perspective
There isn’t enough information here. What’s his usual bills like? Has it had his meter checked after a long time?

Offer to pay 2.5% of it, worked with those lads dealing with NAMA.
There was a woman died in England a few months back of exposure. Family reported she was wealthy but wouldn’t turn the heating on sitting in the cold. Especially if their isolated and older they must listen to the news and think this is something they have to do.
