Ukraine Situation Report: Antonovsky Bridgehead Holds

  1. I guess the question is: can this lead to anything? Either a distraction from attacks further east, or an expandable bridgehead? I can’t imagine that any build up across it could be concealed from aerial recce.

  2. This bridgehead puts Russia at a serious disadvantage. The troops opposing the bridgehead are now stuck in place, unable to withdraw, unable to maneuver, unable to dislodge. And every time they try to bring heavier equipment up to dislodge it, they lose a few more pieces.

I’m sure it’s creating more than a little headscratching on the Russian side. It isn’t big enough to be a major attack, but it’s too big to be ignored, as well. Apparently, it hasn’t yet dawned on RU command that the bridgehead accomplishes a major goal just by existing: Russia is tying up 4-5X as many troops as Ukraine is risking. And those troops won’t be able to be removed if another UAF probe or bridgehead occurs.
