Of course we are.
We can’t even import more builders to help with housing because there’s nowhere for them to live.
Hit FFG where it really hurts, in their precious GDP
These fat cats doing the research into this is hilarious when it’s been bloody apparent this is a problem for a long long time.
Great job pointing out problems. Try solving them for a change
This has been obvious for years. I was working at a company that regularly hired in skilled people from overseas. They all struggled to find places to live and I would wonder how long they could stick around. Government and well off people didn’t seem to care that the free market approach wasn’t working all this time. Now that it’s cutting into business investment and wealthy people’s kids having a place to stay when they go off to college, it’s a big problem. Thousands of homeless kids wasn’t much of a motivator.
Of course we are. This is what is so insane about FG/FF housing policy. It’s in the countries interest to have lower rents and higher access to affordable properties.
Imagine all the benefits of living and working in Ireland, but the housing market (and healthcare system) worked properly. There’s not a country that would be able to compete!
People literally screaming this for years don’t need a think tank to tell you!
We can only get by on Irish charm for so long we need to get fucking serious about infrastructure and what we want the country to look like in 50years.
