The beer in so many places is awful. In Columbia beach you have to get bottles it tastes so bad. Does nobody clean the pipes?

I miss the abundance of the soft drink options. It’s always same pepsi, cola, fanta, sprite etc. in the supermarket. Dr. Pepper is hard to find, Mountain Dew is nonexistent. Kvas and georgian lemonades can only be found in national stores, same with asian soft drinks. And even then the options feel limited.
There’s a superb microbrewery/tap room in Nicosia. Golem. Beautiful view of the wall as well. Just dream of wet and cold weather and it would be like being in Berlin.

This is where I chime in to tell you German beer SUCKS! It’s largely lager and yes I know there’s a Helles vs pilsner distinction or whatever but they are almost identical and severely inferior to most other types of beers. I wouldn’t even say German beer is served nicely, in Cyprus you can get a lager in a frozen glass and that’s a real treat. I’m fond of a radler from time to time though.
