Council order to buy Kings Norton man’s house in abandoned street

  1. >He has since objected on the grounds he cannot find another similar property in the city for the price being offered.

    >Mr Harris said he would have to relocate to Wolverhampton, Telford or Derby to find a suitable property, but would then have travel costs for work and to see his family.

    >He claims the other options offered to him are for him to become a council tenant, which would mean he would have to pay rent, or shared ownership of another property which would put him in debt.

When I first saw the headline I thought this was going to be a case of NIMBYism, but having read the article I don’t actually think he’s being that unreasonable. He shouldn’t be put in a worse situation than he is currently in.

  2. How about they swap his house for a similar sized one they are building, then he gets to live in the same place, they get to build, and everyone is happy!

  3. Some links, seems alot been going on, qnd been going on for quite some time.
