“For our safety” hmm but it’s okay to try and destroy people’s mentality for having a social life with friends/ family and celebrate tradition. I see a bigger agenda to this and it’s definitely not covid.
Money saved there to go towards to the Number 10 bender instead.
People will still meet up, possibly even at Trafalgar Square too

Right, I have say what I think in the hope someone can convince me I’m wrong, but…
If Omicron, based on impact to the individual, was a virus in its own right and we never had the ground work set in by previous/original COVID-19 – would we be freaking out in this way?
I’m beginning to suspect the NHS is overrun for reasons other than Covid. I can’t find anything concrete to back up numbers but a quick google search and the articles that pop up tell me we had major issues around winter before this thing was a thing?
So this puts me in the headspace Omicron is just a bit of an excuse for poor management with regards to our health services?
Here’s a question, where does the money even go to after the events been cancelled? I would assumed back in the budget once cancellation fees are paid

Newham had a number of events cancelled across a couple of years, one being rain the others then being Covid, where’s the money going?

Honest, need to put in a FOI towards Newham and their budget/Cancelled events.
TIL there was supposed to be a NYE event in central london.
> A live broadcast celebrating London and its defining moments of 2021 will take its place
Did the garden bridge finally open? Crossrail? HS2? It would be nice to be reminded of some positive news but I can’t think of much this year…
I’m currently theoreticaly going to a massive club night on NYE….like fuck I am.
