but to be fair 12 miles is a higher than the average number of miles electrified each year. With 258 miles being electrifed between 1997 and 2019 which works out at 11.2 miles a year.

In my half awake state I thought for a second that *Midland Mainline* was *Madeline McCann* only written with a harsh Belfast accent.
They should have fully electrified the entire network 30 years ago. Privatisation funnelled all that money into private pockets instead.
I think they should do all of it or none of it. Even then, it won’t save the railways from shitty management.

People have already been waiting six decades. Electrification of the West Coast mainline began in the early 60s.
