Premier League considers rules for unvaccinated players amid 90 new Covid cases

  1. Noticeable how Manchester United were allowed a postponement, no-one else now. Forcing clubs to play with only 13 players plus one goalkeeper is not fair competition.

  2. > Proposals include unvaccinated players travelling separately to games, facing an additional check to get into stadiums and having meals away from vaccinated teammates. The moves are designed to guard against more fixtures being cancelled as the clubs decided to press on with the season.

More bureaucracy from the COVID nonces. All completely pointless cumbersome rubbish

  3. Liverpool had three cases and 99% of players and staff are vaccinated. Players should get a vaccine but they also need boosters thanks to the omicron variant, which still only reduces their chance of getting ill or displaying symptoms (as with the Liverpool players). While vaccination is great, there will still be a lot of players testing positive because of how transmissible the omicron variant is.

  4. Still think it’s a bit shocking Tottenham got forced to forfeit in the Uefa conference league over reporting covid cases.

Sets a bit of a bad precedent to just not test and announce.

    But that’s Uefa all over.

  5. There was a time when we weren’t allowed to meet up with other people or go to work, but the Premier League footballers were given special dispensation to carry on playing.

The absolute least they can do in return is to get a vaccine that’s free, safe and effective. It protects people around them and it makes it less likely that we’ll have to suffer more restrictions.

  6. Add a wage cap to unvaccinated players. £500 a week. Any contracted wages go to escrow upto 100K, anything after goes to club related charities.

You’ll have them all vaccinated within a week.
